NEW PROGRAM AT NESSRALLA FARM: The program is to purchase produce from Nessralla Farm either by delivery or curbside pickup here is the information they have shared with me.Contactless, same day curbside pickup or next day delivery (in Halifax, Plympton, Oak Point only). $20 minimum order. For everyone's safety, payment must be made via credit or debit card over the phone. Call 781.294.1767 to order: you have two options, a $20 grab bag, or order your preference. At this point we only have one phone line and the answering machine aspect is inconsistent. We don’t want to lose your order, so don’t leave a message—just give us a few minutes and call back!
We'll post a list of available produce by Thursday night, so check back in!
This is a new program for us...thank you for your patience and we'll figure it out together!
Pope's Tavern Closed - Services Still Available
As of 1:00 PM, March 13, 2020, Pope’s Tavern, used by the Halifax Council on Aging for offices and services, will be closed to the public for an indefinite period of time. This decision was made jointly by the Board of Selectmen, Town Administrator, Council on Aging Director, and Fire Chief.
We are 100% committed to serving our senior population during this difficult time; to that end, the entire staff will be providing transportation to medically necessary doctors’ appointments, deliver Meals on Wheels, and phone check-in and will hold appointments as needed at the COA building.
If you or someone you know needs assistance, please contact the Council on Aging at 781-293-7313, during normal business hours. For emergencies, please call 911.
To identify the economic, health and cultural needs of our senior community and provide an environment of support, learning and socialization while striving to enrich lives by offering a wide array of programs, transportation and advocating on their behalf, when necessary, thereby promoting independence, wellness and dignity.
